Chapter 92

• Lexi’s POV
• Luca is so hot and cold all the time, I don’t really know where I stand with him. Every since Matteo has been born he has started working from home a lot more. I spend my days tending to all the children. Which is so hard but rewarding at the same time. Matteo is two weeks old today, and the worry about Luca forcing me to have another baby is too much to bear. I decide I can’t take the anticipation of not knowing what he tends to do. I tried discussing it while I was in the hospital, but he didn’t want to listen. So, today I am going to try another shot at it. All the kids are sleeping expect for Alice, so I carry her with me to Luca’s office.
• I knock on the door and wait for permission to enter. I’ve only ever been over to this side of the house a very few times. So, I take the opportunity to check out the décor. This wing of the house gives me the creeps. I’m lost in deep thought that I almost miss Luca yell “come in.” I push open the heavy wood door and come face to face with no other then Margaret. She is standing behind Luca’s chair rubbing his shoulders. She drops her hands as soon as she sees my face. I just roll my eyes and spin around on my heels and go to stomp out of the room. There is no way that I want to have a conversation with Margaret in there. I make it about two steps before Luca stops me. “Don’t fucking take another step until you tell me why you have disturbed me. You better have a good damn reason.” Something comes over me and takes control of my body, because before I can stop myself, I rush out of the room and slam the door behind me. I run as fast as I can with Alice in my arms to my bedroom and shut the door.
