Chapter 53

• Lexi’s POV
• The door led out of the building at the front corner. It was easy enough to slip past the bouncers at the doors. We ran two blocks before hailing a cab. Once we got in the backseat, Kristen spit some address off at him. “I can’t believe were doing this, I mean I just freaking snuck out of my husband’s night club. This is the first time since the day I arrived in New York that I don’t have someone watching me. If feels so great, even though my freedom won’t last long and comes with a hefty price. Quickly we all need to turn off our phones.” I tell my two best friends. They don’t say anything back to me, only just stare at me.
• We pull up outside Club 51 and this place is still going as strong as Luca’s club was. There is a long line going down the street, me being drunk I saunter my way to the bouncers, and tell them my first and last name. They stare at each other, before lifting the velvet rope for us to enter. I wink at them and trudge my way to the bar. Realizing I didn’t have any money I the girls if either one of them do. Luna says she does, and I ask her if I could borrow some, that I would pay her back sometimes this week. It was on from that point forward. No babysitters, or husbands telling us what we can or can’t drink or how to dance. We were partying like I always imagined myself in New York City.
