Chapter 73

• Lexi’s POV
• Sitting in the back of Luca’s SUV with him on our way home, and I’m starting to stress. I know I lied about needing the doctor, hopefully Luca won’t find out. Pulling into our driveway I can already see the doctor’s sports car parked out front. We climb out and I head straight to the west wing where the exam room is. I’m thankful that Luca didn’t follow me up here. I announce my presence “hey doc.” A smile spreads across his face as he tells me “Hello.” He is always such a nice gentleman.
• I take a seat up on top of the exam table, and he takes that as his cue to start all the questioning. “So, Lexi tell me what is going on with you tonight.” I take a deep breath before I spill a big o can of lies out to him. I told him exactly what I told Luca. He pulls the sonogram machine over and squirted the jelly on my belly and started moving the wand around until he found what looks like a little bean. He checks all t he read outs on the machine and then asks me. “Are you still bleeding or was it just spotting?” “It was just spotting cause I’m not bleeding anymore.” I answer back to him. He nods his head. “All right everything looks good with the baby, I’m a little concerned with your blood pressure. Since you did have complications on your last delivery then we need to make sure that all your vitals are normal and not to have to much stress on your body. I’m recommending best rest for at least a week then I’ll come back and check your vitals again. Have you been taking your prenatal vitamins?”
