Chapter 15

• Lexi’s POV
• Ignoring my words of pain, Luca clamped his arms around my thighs and held me in place. It was boring sitting in the conference, she began studying her surroundings. She seen that Marco’s attention was on the dance floor below. Curious about what he was staring at she takes a look. It doesn’t take long until she spotted Kristen dancing. She looked beautiful and talented out there. Luca takes notice that her gaze is on the people below. He clears his throat and tells her “You can join Kristen downstairs.” Her heart leaps she twists around and places a passionate kiss on his lips. “Can I get a couple of shots when I get down there,” I ask him. “Yes, just tell them to anything you order is on me.” He said back to me. “Thank you,” was the last thing spoken before I bolted out of the room.
• Reaching the dance floor, she pushes thru the crowd until she comes into view with Kristen. Kristen runs up to her hugging her starts giggling. “I was so hoping that you’d be able to come tonight. Marco wasn’t sure if Luca was going to bring you or not.” Kristen says between gasps. “Let’s go get a drink.” I tell her. We saunter up to the bar where a gorgeous redhaired woman was tending the bar. The bartender finally made it around to ask what they wanted to drink; she rushes off to make the shots. When it was time to pay the bill, I told her. “Our drinks are on Luca.” She suddenly got this look on her face before winking at me. I look at Kristen and ask “what the hell was that look about I wonder?” She shrugs her shoulders while we down the four shots a piece that we just ordered. I wasn’t feeling that liquid courage that I needed in order to dance in front of all these people. I threw up my arm at the redhead, she glanced my way and I just pointed at the glasses. She got the hint and started making more. This time when she brought them to us, she talked for a minute. “So, which one of you is dating the boss man?” “I am,” is the only thing I responded to her. I pick up one of the glasses and bring it to my mouth and drink it. I catch her eyeballing my ring that Luca gave me. Her eyes grow in size and all I can see is the white globes, but she doesn’t say a word. I toss back the last three of my four shots; I look at Kristen and she is shaking her head. “I can’t do any more, I have been drinking since we got back from the mall today.” She lets me know. I don’t hesitate gulping down her four as well.
