Chapter 89
- Lexi’s POV
- I’ve been in this hospital now for 4 hours. I didn’t want mother to miss this delivery. Since, she has been at everyone of her other grandkids birth. She and I are currently the only one’s in my room. Luca went out to sit with his father. Thank goodness, when he is around, I am so uptight. Mother takes the rag and swipes it across my forehead. I’m sweating like something fierce. It isn’t many times that we get alone time together, so I wanted to discuss what happened earlier. “Mother did Luca tell you who he invited up here to see me?” She shakes her head no, so I continue. “Margaret came, she walked in here like she had nothing to be ashamed of. I went the fuck off. I don’t know what came over me. I cussed her then kicked her out of my room. I really thought she was my friend. I should have known something was up when Luca made me reach out to her to befriend her. I feel so very stupid, embarrassed and angry. I don’t have any idea where to go from here. Will I ever be enough for Luca, I don’t understand why he keeps me around if he doesn’t want me. Which he clearly doesn’t, all I am to him is a baby factory. Another thing that I’ve had enough of, being pregnant. I tried to talk to him about getting my tubes tied, but he wouldn’t hear of it. We have four wonderful kids is that not plenty. I wish there was some way I could get on birth control without him being aware of it. We have been together for years now, and I am still not allowed to step foot off of the property unless I go to a doctor’s appointment, or here to the hospital. I’m not even allowed to go over to your house. What can I do to get more freedom. I always do what he says, I take care of all his kids and am happy to do it. I put him first whenever he is around, I can’t think of anything else I can do to show him that it’s killing me slowly to stay locked up at the house all day every day.”
- Tears are running down my face by this point. Mother hushes me, and whispers into my ear while bending down. “My dear, you must not talk about such things with him so close. We don’t know if they can hear us or not. I don’t want to see you get into any more trouble. As far as birth control goes, I’ll see what I can do. If I am able to help you must swear to me to always keep it a secret even from Luna. Now, that Margaret bitch I wouldn’t even lose any sleep over her. Just be thankful that she showed her true colors before she had any real ammunition to use against you to Luca. She is a rank chaser, always trying to get with some higher up. I’ll talk with papa, and see if he won’t have a discussion with Luca about keeping you locked up at the house. I’ll try to persuade him to get Luca to give you permission at least to come over to our house. That way you are not always at home. I love you and I am always here for you.”
