Chapter 80

• Lexi’s POV
• I run back into the house as quick as I can that way Luca won’t know I went outside. I turn to the corner heading into the hallway that houses all the bedrooms and run into a rock wall it feels like. I grip my hold on Mia tighter thinking that were about to fall. Suddenly two strong arms reach out and steady me back upright. I know it’s Luca just by the way my skin tingles where he just touched me. Mia notices it’s her papa and starts reaching for him. When he doesn’t get her, she starts to cry. I try to comfort her by rocking her, but she doesn’t want any part of me. Finally, Luca realizes that she isn’t going to stop until he gets her, so he takes her out of my arms into his. She shuts up immediately.
• After he has her I slowly bring my eyes to his and I can see the fury in them. I swallow the lump in my throat so I can speak. “I’m making her something to eat, but she was squirming to much I felt like I might drop her. So, can you please hold her why I get her food?” I play it off like I wasn’t outside, but in the kitchen. I hope he buys it, because if not I’m going to have a very sore ass. Luca nods his head one time informing me that he’ll watch Mia while I handle what needs to be done. I scurry into the next room and start mixing the baby formula. After getting her bottle fixed, I rush back to where Luca and Mia are.
