• Lexi’s POV
• I can feel everyone’s gazes on us as Luca and I made our way around the dance floor. He spins me which makes me burst out in a laugh. Staring deep into Luca’s eyes I can actually see the love he has for me. My only wish is that he would stay this way. By the time the song comes to an end my feet are killing me in these high heel shoes. Luca must have noticed, because he leads me back towards our table.
• Mother is smiling so bright at Luca and I when we return. She must be pleased by the affection that Luca is showing me. I take a peek around me, and my eyes stop on Kristen. She is sitting beside Marco with a scowl marring her face. When she realizes that I am looking straight at her, she changes her facial expression to a grin. I don’t buy it for one minute. She has let her true colors be known by fucking my husband. Whatever friendship she might have thought we had, is long gone.
