Chapter 44

• Lexi’s POV
• Tears start pouring out of my eyes, and I thank him. We finish our diner in silence. The next morning mother, Luna, and I leave to go shopping. By the time we made it home it was 10:00 pm. I had such a good time. Papa was true to his word, he made sure he checked everything that I bought. He embraced me in a big hug, and kissed my forehead. “I know you think Luca doesn’t care my dear, but things aren’t always what they seem.” Is what he tells me before leaving my room. I stand there puzzled by what he just said.
• It’s been right at three months since we moved. I’m due any day now, so mother and papa have been making sure someone stays very close to me. I just got done feeding LJ breakfast when I hear people talking. Papa and Luca walk into the dining room. ‘Thank god I got up and actually got ready today.’ I say to myself. Luca walks in and goes straight to LJ. Which my little bean is so happy to see his papa. I couldn’t believe it when Luca started coming nearly every afternoon to spend with LJ. He’s actually early today, he must have something to do this evening. I try not to make eye contact with him, as I raise up from my chair.
