Chapter 95

  • The following morning when I finally got up, I wasn't ready to face the day. I didn't want to get up and deal with everything that I had to do. But if I didn't do it, then no one would. So I dragged myself out of bed and got dressed before I went downstairs. Ethan was already out of bed, and I looked out the kitchen window while I was making a coffee and saw that Ethan was outside training the warriors. They must have gotten an early start, or I slept in pretty late. I wasn't even sure what time it was.
  • But once I got my coffee, I went to the office, and I sat behind the desk, and then I started looking through all the packs that we needed to go and see. I grabbed a map and put a dot on all of their locations and realized that it would be easier if we went from pack to pack, rather than coming home between each visit. Which meant that Mason would be in charge of the pack while we were gone.
  • I knew that it would be a huge responsibility on his part, but we wouldn't do it if we didn't trust him completely. He'd done it before, and he can do it again. I was just worried that he was afraid to take care of them for a long period of time because last time, they were attacked by insiders. I knew that he was rattled by that and blamed himself, but if we blamed him for that, then he wouldn't still be the Beta. That was a clear indication that we still trusted him and it wasn't his fault.
