Chapter 221
- SUMMER'S POV
- After having that conversation with Ethan and after telling him everything that I was doing, I felt myself relax just a little bit. Knowing that he wasn't going to do anything reckless while I was stuck here gave me a sense of relief. He had agreed to wait for my signal before making any kind of move, and that was all I was asking for right now. That promise gave me just enough peace of mind to focus on the task in front of me.
- That night, I had done a considerable amount of research into Lilith. I spent hours combing through various pieces of information, following one lead after another. My eyes were glued to the screen, scanning every word for something useful. But eventually, I began to feel my eyes getting heavy. The screen blurred slightly, and I realized I had reached my limit for the night. I needed a break from staring at the computer. Still, I couldn’t just close it and walk away. I needed to shut everything down properly and reset the digital trail so that Lilith wouldn’t suspect I had managed to get past her firewall. It had taken a lot of effort to break through it, and if she found out, everything I had done would be for nothing.
