• I stayed up in my room until the next morning, not even once stepping out or trying to sleep. I was wide awake the entire time, unable to relax, my thoughts constantly swirling in my head. When I finally came down the next day, the sun had already risen, casting a soft golden hue over the walls and floors. I stepped into the hallway and immediately noticed the warriors wandering around, their movements calm and focused, but clearly watching everything closely. There was a sense of vigilance in the air, and it reminded me that even though the day had begun, nothing felt normal anymore.
• But I didn’t stop to talk to anyone. I walked straight to the kitchen with slow, tired steps and made myself a coffee. The scent of it helped soothe the edge of my nerves, but only slightly.
