Chapter 209
- The soldiers heard the roar, but they were taken completely off guard by it. So we started running for them, completely outnumbered and far enough away from the village and the man that was torturing the slaves so that they wouldn't know what was going on and they couldn't call for help.
- We ran in from all different directions and attacked the first monsters in sight, and Summer was by my side the whole way. I attacked the first soldier that was in my line of sight, and then Summer warned me of the two sneaking up behind me with their weapons.
- I spun around quickly, using the momentum of my body to knock one of the creatures to the ground. My wolf instincts kicked in, and I lunged at the second one, my teeth sinking deep into the flesh of its neck. I refused to let go until I felt the snap and tear that signaled his head had been completely torn away from his body. Blood splattered everywhere, but I didn’t stop to think about it. I kept moving, focused only on keeping my people alive.
