• When I was finally released from the hospital, I was so grateful to be out of there, but Ethan was fussing over me a lot. So were a lot of other people in the pack. They were making a lot of effort to make sure that I was comfortable, like they owed me something. But it was actually making me feel uncomfortable. I just did what I had to do when we got attacked. And we didn't come through it unharmed. Warriors on our side lost their lives. Ethan and Enzo informed the families together of the people that died.
• I was sitting on our bed looking through all the files that Enzo had gathered on the Lycan King, and this was all the evidence that we needed to take to the werewolf council. But I knew that it wasn't going to be that simple. The Lycan King was powerful. And I wasn't even sure, with this evidence, that the werewolf council was going to do anything about him. They were scared of him. And they had every right to be. But that didn't mean that he should be allowed to get away with it. We needed enough werewolves to stand together against him. Enough packs to unite together and go up against the Lycan King.
