Chapter 230

  • "She means that. She will." One of mine said. Which made them all stop laughing. The tone in his voice had a seriousness that cut through the room like a blade. The warriors exchanged glances, their chuckles fading quickly into a silence filled with unease. The way he said it, with no hesitation, no doubt, made it clear that there was no exaggeration in what I had just told them.
  • "Are you in the Alpha room? We will make sure that you're protected." The warrior said, his voice low and laced with concern. His protective instincts were kicking in hard now, and I appreciated the sentiment. But protection wasn’t what I needed most at that moment. I needed them to stay focused, to understand the rules of the situation we were in.
  • "Don't worry about me. She doesn't come in this house. It's one of the conditions of me being here." I replied. My voice was calm but firm. I wanted them to hear the certainty in it, to understand that I wasn’t just hoping this was true. It was a fact. Lilith didn’t enter the house, and that mattered more than they realized.
