- “It is?” I asked, surprised, my voice quiet with curiosity as I glanced around the room that had once been mine—familiar yet distant now with the weight of everything that had happened since I last called this place home.
- “Well, we’re not using your father’s bedroom,” Ethan replied without hesitation, his tone resolute and edged with disdain. “Goddess knows what the hell has happened in that room since your mother died.”
- The disgust in his voice mirrored my own feelings. I could only nod slowly, my stomach twisting at the thought. “Yeah… I’d rather not think about it,” I said truthfully, pushing the idea from my mind as quickly as it had entered. “How long are you planning on us staying here?” I asked, curious and a little anxious. The longer we stayed, the more the memories clawed at the back of my mind.
