Chapter 207

• ETHAN'S POV
• I looked over at Summer, who was standing a little distance away, being gently comforted by Ryker. As soon as the witches began performing their ritual, a searing, unbearable pain tore through my body, radiating from the inside out. It felt like something was ripping me apart from within, like every organ and every bone was being broken and rearranged all at once. I couldn't contain the pain. I let out a scream, raw and unfiltered, before my legs gave out beneath me, and I collapsed onto the ground.
• My vision blurred rapidly, the edges of everything beginning to fade into darkness. But before I lost all sense of what was happening, I glanced up one last time. Through the haze, I saw Summer struggling. Ryker had both arms around her, holding her back with a firm grip as she reached out for me. The concern on her face was devastating. And then, there was nothing. Everything went black.
