Chapter 11

• "All right. Even if you train me, I won't care. I assumed you would have been too busy to instruct me. I try to sound casual when I say, "I mean, you can't stay here forever with me," but there was a tiny part of me that felt vulnerable when I did so. A part of me questioned whether he could or would find the time to do something as consistent as training me. He was the Alpha, after all. His duties extended well beyond me.
• He says, "I'll make time for you whenever you need me," in a tone that exudes total assurance. His voice was one of unwavering confidence, without hesitation or a hint of doubt. That degree of dedication took me a little by surprise.
• "I understand. "Thank you," I say quietly and sincerely. In a surprising way, it was comforting. Despite his busy schedule, he managed to maintain such certainty and presence.
