• I noticed Ethan look down at the floor, take a breath and roll his eyes with a bit of irritation before he pushed himself away from me. The way he acted told me that he had dealt with Zara before, and it was clear she wasn’t new to him.
• "That's Alpha to you now, Zara," Ethan said, his voice stern, commanding, leaving no room for challenge. Such words clarified to her and everyone around what his role was and how much control he had.
• Zara just made a small smile as she ignored her uncle’s reminder. "Eva told me that you were a changed man," she said with a sweetness that felt forced, dripping in sarcasm. Her voice revealed that she was very doubtful of what I was told.
