• We had lunch at the food court and then went to the cinema to choose a movie. I let Caroline choose, and she preferred an adventure movie to an animated one. William offered to buy the tickets, probably anticipating that if I did, I would choose his seat as far away as possible. Obviously, I would have done just that...
• "Let's go!" he ordered, after approaching us with a bucket of popcorn in his hand. He handed it to Caroline before we entered the theater. While the girl was distracted by the popcorn, William boldly put one of his hands on my back as we walked to our seats.
• "I'll sit in the middle," William said to Caroline.
