Chapter 12

• I got into the back seat of Liam's car, a recent model silver sedan. I listened to their conversation as they talked about dinner and the presentation. It seemed that the alpha and his heir had recently returned after another confrontation at the dark borders. Annie's father was one of the border guards and was almost always away, so Annie was especially excited to see him, even if only for a few days. The dinner was to celebrate the moment of peace with family and close friends.
• "We're here!" Liam announced as he parking in front of a large two-story house with a huge garden. The house stood on elevated ground, with the first floor slightly above street level and a driveway that seemed to descend into an underground garage. The house was relatively close to where Nicolas lived, which made perfect sense, since the clan's beta was his father.
• "Let's go to the kitchen first, I want to introduce you to my mother." Annie pulled me by the arm while Liam took the sound equipment out of the car.
