• I was happy when I got to the apartment and saw that Annie had restocked the vegetables and some other groceries that were running low. While everyone settled into the living room, Annie stayed with me in the kitchen helping me prepare the food. I focused on making something more basic to speed things up. The smell ended up attracting Damian, who stayed close by watching me cook.
• "Learning this now won't help you cook better in the other world," I warned him. He was salivating beside me and only quieted down after I let him taste a little of the sauce I was preparing.
• "It's still worth it," Damian laughed, satisfied.
