- It was the tenth time Lohan had examined me impatiently. His eyes were teary as a desperate growl escaped his mouth. I felt no anger, no hurt, but there was enough attachment within me that I refused to seek a way out into the world beyond.
- “I’ll be the ghost who pulls your foot at night!” I whispered in his ear. Obviously, he didn’t hear me. His breathing was heavy as he checked my pulse once more. “Can’t you recognize a corpse?”
