Chapter 83
- There was a lot of commotion and whispering in the hall. I didn't hesitate to run out of there before this situation affected me in any way. I was afraid they would try to accuse me of something, and besides, I was already overwhelmed with problems. I could have been wrong, but I preferred not to take any chances. It seemed that I had become a magnet for problems when everything came crashing down on me at once.
- I took off my sandals and held the skirt of my dress. I felt like I needed to run until I felt safe.
- "Lisa, answer me!" I begged. She didn't want to run with me, and I didn't insist. I chickened out of taking the form of a wolf, knowing that all of Lisa's feelings and pain would come rushing back when I did. I could barely bear my own pain, so how could I absorb even more of hers?
