Chapter 17
- My eyelids felt unbearably heavy, begging for sleep that I couldn't afford to have. In the meantime, my cell phone battery had died, and if William didn't show up, I wouldn't be able to call anyone for help. Had I made the right choice in calling him?
- I crawled a few inches forward, forcing the wound to hurt again. The pain was the only thing that kept me awake. The wind had started to turn colder, a sign that the afternoon was fading into another dark night.
- As my eyes began to close again, I heard footsteps approaching at high speed. When I realized it, a huge reddish-brown wolf was standing in front of me. My heart was beating very fast, waking me completely from the stupor I had been in before. A mixture of feelings and reactions made my stomach bubble with anxiety.
