- His choice of words bothered me deeply. He sounded smug, as if he were saying he had advantages over his rival, when that wasn't entirely true. As much as I despised the idea of being with Damian, he had always been attentive and caring toward me when we were together. William, on the other hand, preferred to pretend I didn't exist most of the time rather than seek me out because of our companion bond. When we did meet, he usually belittled and humiliated me, deeply hurting Lisa's in the process.
- I pushed him away from me. After all, what was I doing allowing him to touch me like that after everything that had happened between us?
