• "Buddy, I'm back!" I announced as soon as I entered the house. When I got no response, I followed his trail to my room and saw him sitting with his back to me on the bed. "Buddy?"
• He didn't move or answer me. I put my backpack in the closet and approached him. His expression was serious and cold, he stared at the wall as if he could see beyond it. I gently touched his arm, and when he didn't react, I sat down next to him and rested my head on his shoulder.
