Chapter 40
- It was a long and tiring walk. When I bought the tent and the other camping gear, I had no idea how exhausting it would be to make the whole journey in my human form. Thanks to Lisa's strength, I considered the load light, but the distance felt countless times greater than when I traveled it in my wolf form. It wasn't even midnight when I slipped out of the room, and even though I kept up a fast pace, I felt that time was against me.
- "I don't think you'll be sleeping tonight!" my wolf commented.
- "I don't need to," I replied. I had eaten dinner early and managed to sleep for a few hours before coming here. My next sleep would probably be at dawn the next day, since I would start the journey with Annie before sunset.
