• I got up and walked over to the tray Liz had left in the kitchen. I took a piece of dry bread and began to chew it, savoring it as if it were the best bread in the world. I felt strangely happy, which was very confusing. I could not even remember the last time I had felt this way.
• "It's a shame she's a witch!" I thought as I lay down. Soon, I would be leaving, and the days here would be nothing more than memories to be forgotten by time.
