• Alexis stood in the passage, the black out light from the kitchen casting shadows over the cleaned wooden floor. She wrapped her arms around herself, attempting to contain the tornado of feelings that had been building up inside her.
• Haven’s voice resounded in her mind, and his words felt like they had been carved into her soul: “Win her over.”
