Chapter 46

• Alexis stood at the window of her flat, looking out at the bustling city underneath. The lights of the city glinted like stars, portraying the horizon with a dynamic shine that appeared nearly deriding. She took a deep breath, her mind dashing with the plan that she had so fastidiously created.
• Her spouse was meant to be her everything. But some place along the line, he had floated away, his time and consideration devoured by work and other things that appeared more imperative than her. Alexis had tried to communicate, to reach out, but each trial was met with half-hearted reactions and purge guarantees.
• Haven’s nonappearance had cleared out a void, one that Alexis decided to fill. Not with franticness or distress, but with a sense of reason. She had continuously been somebody who may turn an awful circumstance into something good, and this was no different.
