• "I'm telling you, Jack, the job market is brutal right now," a young man was saying to his companion. "I've been to a dozen interviews this month, and nothing."
• His friend nodded sympathetically. "I hear you, man. But you can't give up. The right opportunity is out there; you just have to keep pushing."
• Their words resonated with Alexis. She wasn't alone in her struggles, and perhaps she was being too hard on herself. Feeling somewhat motivated, she finished her coffee and headed out home, she was already exhausted regardless.
