  • Matthew clenched his hands, his lunch plans overlooked. Haven was his best friend, but this felt like a disloyalty. He was aware of their marriage, and he meant to be a friend to the couple

He’d take her on dates so much that she wouldn’t have space in her heart for anybody else, not indeed Haven. The other day, Matthew appeared at Alexis’s door with a bouquet of sunflowers—her favorite. She opened the door, her face brightening at the sight of him, but there was a flash of wavering in her eyes.
