• Haven sat at the edge of his bed, gazing vacantly at the clock on the wall. The hands moved relentlessly, but the rest of his life felt solidified. Alexis had been gone for months. It was a future he never envisioned, one where the lady he thought he would spend the rest of his life with had chosen another man. Matthew, the name still stung.
