Chapter 37

  • Haven was still not cool with the closeness between Alexis and Matthew which was not reducing at this moment. He called her for dinner around 7:30PM, but she was getting late by about thirty minutes. The time he spent waiting for her, he kept brooding over how he was going to handle the situation of which was becoming incessant and he was about to be third wheel.
  • Haven's perspective had never changed, he wasn’t going to allow this to happen even if it meant going low. He couldn’t sit and watch his long term friendship with Matthew being overshadowed, it was looking towards the fact that he wasn’t getting the friendship right with Matthew and Alexis was easing her way into it.
  • He dropped onto the edge of his bed, gazing at the worn carpet. It wasn't the first time he had been disturbed by their closeness, but nowadays felt different—more pressing, more prompt. Haven had attempted to reason with himself, to thrust aside the biting envy and uncertainty, but his endeavors had demonstrated futile. His intellect kept returning to the way Matthew and Alexis had been whispering and laughing together at the last gathering, apparently lost in their own world.
