• “Am I boring you?” Levi nudged me with his shoulder, a smug grin tugging at the corners of his lips. My head snapped towards him, my eyes rolling playfully in response. He was wildly sure of himself. That much was apparent in the half-hour I’d been in his presence.
• He’d been walking across the lawn at the precise moment Gerald had been leaving, stealing any opportunities for me to play the conversation over in my head. I stored every word, sentence and offer away in my mind for replay later tonight.
