• “The Gods have it out for me, I swear.” I protested while Aiden helped me settle into bed, I reached for my pillow, drawing it to my body as I coiled around it. Accepting its innate coldness to lower my body temperature.
• “Sometimes even I think that’s true,” he muttered as he spread my blanket over me and a chill ran down my spine. For everything, I didn’t want him or anyone else to pity me. I couldn’t bear it and for the first time, I wondered what his thoughts of me were.
