• The envelope weighed heavy in my pocket and as soon as the doors to the auditorium closed behind me, I released the papers in my hand and retrieved the envelope. Oblivious to the hall packed with students, I ripped the envelope open and unfolded the neatly pressed papers. My eyes scanned for the results, an infinite pause stretching over me and I trailed a path with my eyes, upward, among the mass of students until my eyes found hers.
• At the height of the stairs, I saw her. She lent me a brief moment of contact before briskly fanning through the space to reach her seat. I folded the papers along their permeant creases and tucked them away.
