• “Did Antonio bail or something?” Vera voiced her concern as she twisted around in her chair to search for him. He’s been gone for at least fifteen minutes since his washroom break. The best fifteen minutes I spent if I was honest. He was welcome to spend the rest of the night in the toilets for all I cared and that depraved side of me wished he was keeled over a toilet barfing his guts out.
• A weight had lifted from my shoulders the moment he declared the need to ‘empty his bladder’. Information I was happy to remain without, especially since he’d leaned close to bray the words directly into my ear. His saliva shot out in assaulting droplets, cascading on my outer ear like acid. I felt so dirty and wondered how women my age found him attractive because apparently, they do. He couldn’t shut up about his conquests the whole time as if that would appeal to me.
