• Vera couldn’t stop talking about our newest lecturer. It had proved too much for Aiden and so he refused to accompany us back to our apartment. I wasn’t that lucky. I know I would have been able to share in Vera’s excitement or at least treat it with indifference if there hadn’t been that pesky minor issue of me having slept with our lecturer.
• Instead, my heart raced at the images intruding my mind. A tingling chill hovered over my spine and I couldn’t tell if it had anything to do with the dehydration or all the talk about Mr Monroe.
