• Nineteen. I could hardly come to terms with it. I fucked her. Barely twenty. Barely fucking legal. Barely experienced. What’s worse is that I didn’t even recognise her. Eddy did. With context, it was easy to see the girl I’d met that night. Even through the different hair and eye colour. Those damned heels should have given it away but I was so preoccupied with considering her a potential enemy that I didn’t fathom another context. Turned out she was simply hiding her identity from me. I couldn’t even pretend to be surprised as to why. This must be confusing for her. After months, I showed up in her life as an authority figure. No wonder she was freaked. My behaviour towards her was questionable and possibly scary.
