Chapter 9 Effects Of The Drug

  • He was running his hands all over me, and my lust grew stronger from the combination of his teasing and the effects of the drug.
  • He suddenly stopped and muttered, “How filthy.”
  • The words hit me like a bucket of cold water, snapping me out of my trance. The shame in my heart overcame the lust, and I grabbed some clothes to cover myself with.
  • “You know he's such a scum, and yet you still went home with him and even had sex with him? How filthy can you get?” He said contemptuously.
  • “That's not it, he drugged the wine......”
  • “Would he have been able to do that if you didn't go home with him?” He asked coldly.
  • I didn't know what to say. There was so much that I wanted to say but I couldn't seem to put it into words, and I could feel my tears start flowing again.
  • “Were you feeling so empty that anyone could have sex with you? Even if it was for free?” He asked coldly.
  • I bit my lip to keep my tears from flowing, “I am grateful that you saved me, but that doesn't mean you can humiliate me as you wish!”
  • He snorted as he picked up his coat and walked out the door.
  • I fumbled my way into the bathroom, doused myself with cold water and forced myself to vomit. I wanted to rid myself of the effects of the drug that had caused me such humiliation as soon as possible.
  • I was exhausted after doing so for two painstaking hours, but at least I had regained my strength.
  • I was worried about my son so I came out to see which room he was in. The caretaker watching the door told me he had fallen asleep in the room next to mine after drinking some hot milk.
  • I went in quietly and saw that he was fast asleep next to the toys that I had seen at the hospital earlier. There was a smile on his beautiful face.
  • As I lay down gently next to him, I heard him call out to me and Mr. Mu in his sleep.
  • My mind was plagued with countless questions that kept me awake all night, and I had only started to doze off when it was almost morning.
  • I woke up on time out of habit for work, and fumbled my way out of the room silently as my child was still asleep.
  • Although Mu Chenfeng had said a lot of hurtful things, I could feel his genuine kindness towards me. I thought of making him some breakfast as a token of appreciation, as there wasn't much that I could do for him.
  • To my surprise, breakfast was already prepared, and it was quite a sumptuous one too.
  • There were fried eggs, coffee, bread, sandwiches, porridge and noodles.
  • The maid said she prepared a bit of everything as she didn't know what my preferences were.
  • I was flattered as I had always been the one serving others and had never received such treatment before.
  • I told them that all they needed to do was to take care of the child and that I didn't really mind what I got as long as I wouldn't go hungry.
  • “The young master has instructed you to stay here for the moment, and he will send someone to take care of everything else. The hospital had also informed us that the child's condition is improving, so he doesn't need to stay in the hospital for long, and they would let us know if he needs to be hospitalized again.”
  • I didn't want to impose it on him, but I really couldn't find anywhere else I could stay at the moment.
  • I quickly finished breakfast and left my son in the care of the maid before taking a cab to work.
  • On the way to the mall, my mind was lost in thought as everything felt like a dream yet at the same time, seemed like they had been pre-arranged.
  • When I arrived at the mall, I noticed that my colleagues were giving me strange looks and whispering amongst themselves, but would go quiet as soon as I looked at them.
  • I dragged my most trusted colleague aside and asked her what was going on. She gave me a thumbs up and said, “You sure are impressive! We saw the video of you and the boss at the wedding! The way you stole the groom at the scene was so cool! You're pretty much our lady boss now, why are you even coming to work?”
  • I knew that no amount of explanation could ever clear up that misunderstanding now, so I could only let out a wry smile as I told them it wasn't what they thought.
  • Then, the manager approached me with a stern look on his face and told me to go to his office, and I started to feel uneasy again.
  • As soon as we entered the office, the manager immediately put on a slightly flattering smile and asked me about my opinions regarding the current operating conditions of the mall, and if I had any suggestions.
  • Back then, I had proposed a few suggestions that I thought were decent, but they were all shot down fiercely by the manager as he said a mere salesperson like me was not in a position to be concerned about the mall's management.
  • I had a rough idea as to the reason behind his sudden change of attitude, but I didn't want to point it out.
  • I told him I didn't have any suggestions, but my performance might not be so good recently as I had to take care of my son, so I hope that he will forgive me for that.
  • The manager looked nervous as he hurriedly told me not to worry about it and that I could even take a long leave of absence if I felt tired as he would not deduct my pay and bonus. He then told me that he had prepared a separate office for me right next to his.
  • I was just a mere salesperson, why would I need an office for?
  • Right as the manager and I were going back and forth on the offer, a colleague came in and told us that a group of strangers had entered the mall and started smashing everything they saw.
  • The manager and I quickly rushed over to see what was going on, and we could already hear the sound of glass breaking long before we got there. We even heard someone shout, “If you don't hand over Lin Anan, we'll wreck everything here!”
