Chapter 7 Trap

  • Xiaoyang was waiting for me at the stairs with a Transformers toy in his hand, and there was a caretaker next to him.
  • “Mama!” Xiaoyang threw himself at me.
  • I hugged him tightly, feeling relieved that we were reunited again. I felt that nothing else mattered as long as I had him with me.
  • “Don't worry, Ms. Lin. I'll take good care of the child.” The caretaker said.
  • “What about the cost of his treatment?” I was still worried about the money.
  • “Don't worry, Mr. Mu has taken care of the cost.” The caretaker said with a smile.
  • I was overjoyed and kept thanking her profusely.
  • The caretaker told me that Mr. Mu had requested for them to readmit my son into the hospital and give me a call. He had also told them to not tell me anything further on the phone, and Xiaoyang had insisted on waiting for me at the entrance when he heard that I was coming.
  • In that case, Mr. Mu must have been none other than Mu Chenfeng himself. He had already rescued my son but kept it a secret from me and wouldn't let the caretaker tell me either.
  • The caretaker led me to the ward that Xiaoyang was staying in. All the other patients in there had already been relocated, and a full set of Transformers toys was laid on the empty bed.
  • Xiaoyang had wanted those toys for a long time, but they cost over two thousand online, and I simply couldn't afford such expensive toys with my current financial status. And now, someone had bought them for him.
  • “Xiaoyang, didn't I teach you not to ask for things from others?” I said sternly.
  • Xiaoyang pouted, “That's what I said too, but Mr. Mu said he wasn't a stranger to you. He told me he was your good friend, so I accepted the gifts. He even told me that he'd buy me any toy I wanted as long as I listen to you, mama.”
  • I felt a warm sensation in my heart.
  • “Next time, you must get my permission before accepting anything from others, okay?” I said strictly.
  • “Got it!” Xiaoyang pouted.
  • After having a brief chat with him, a hospital staff came in and told me that the amount paid was enough to cover his costs for this week, but I should also start preparing the amount for next week's treatment.
  • My heart sank once again. Although I had managed to recover my son, the problem with his treatment costs was not fully solved yet.
  • As I was keeping my son company in the hospital later that night, Liu Jun suddenly barged into the ward.
  • There was an obvious bruise on his left cheek, as if he had gotten into a fight with someone.
  • I guarded my son nervously. “Liu Jun, what are you trying to do?! Don't trouble the child any further!”
  • “I've come here today to bring you two back for dinner, and to discuss our divorce.”
  • I had not expected Liu Jun to initiate the divorce, but it made sense for him to do so.
  • Now that our child was sick, we would no longer be a burden to him if we got divorced.
  • “If you want to get a divorce, then just go ahead and do so. We'll pass on the dinner invitation.” I said coldly.
  • “But I've already prepared a lot of dishes. Let's just treat it as a farewell meal.” Liu Jun said.
  • Of course, I didn't want to go back to that house, but Xiaoyang said he wanted to eat with his father.
  • I didn't want to make our child unhappy because of our personal affairs, so I agreed and we went home with Liu Jun after getting permission from the doctor.
  • He had actually prepared quite a feast for us. My mother-in-law left as soon as she saw Xiaoyang and I came back, and no one knew where she went.
  • Xiaoyang was very happy to eat together with us, so I forced a smile for him even though I was disappointed in Liu Jun.
  • Liu Jun raised a wine glass, “We were husband and wife, after all. Let's have a farewell drink, alright?”
  • I refused but he was persistent so I eventually gave in. One glass led to another, and I was slowly starting to feel hot, dizzy and could barely sit up straight.
  • “Xiaoyang, be a good boy and go play outside now. Papa and mama have some things to discuss.” Liu Jun said as he helped me up and brought me into his room.
  • I could clearly see a devilish smile on his face and wanted to struggle but I couldn't muster up the strength to.
  • I was also afraid that I'd scare our child if I did. So, I had no choice but to let him drag me into his room, toss me onto the bed and start taking my clothes off.
  • His computer was on, and I could see the camera light flashing next to it.
  • I knew he was up to no good and shouted at him to let me go as I struggled, but my limbs were so weak that I didn't even have the strength to roll off the bed.
  • “Lin Anan, did you really think that I couldn't do anything to you just because you found someone powerful? How dare you have someone beat me up?! Chief is protecting you, right? I wonder how much he'd pay for a video of us having sex?” Liu Jun said with an evil smile.
  • I was panicking and furious, but I knew I had to stabilize his emotions first. I couldn't afford to let him touch me, let alone record it on camera.
  • “Liu Jun, don't do this, the child is right outside! You want money, right? We can talk about this and work something out!” I tried my best to keep calm.
  • “There's nothing to talk about! Lin Anan, you b****! How dare you have someone beat me up after cheating on me like that?! I'll make sure to screw you up good tonight, and have your lover buy the video from me!” Liu Jun started to take his clothes off.
