Tina knew exactly what Penrose meant by “planning an artist’s development.” If nothing unexpected happened, Penrose would have a few songs written for Wu and the others, pull some strings, and package them with trendy looks and a fashionable persona to boost exposure and pull in fans. Then would come a flood of commercial gigs. Sure, Wu and the boys would get famous, but they’d have zero time or energy to focus on making music. Down the road, that path wouldn’t last.
