Chapter 1226 Thanksgiving (14)

  • “Enough. I’ve sorted everything for you.” Kate Penrose looked at Madison Sawyer, lips parting then closing again. She clearly wanted to ask why Madison looked so wrecked. But seeing how haggard and beat she was, Kate sighed, tugged her into the bathroom, and went to fetch clean clothes. “Go wash up. Take a look at yourself—what a mess. And when you go out, don’t say you’re my sister. I don’t have a sister who’s this timid.”
  • Madison whispered, “Penrose, thanks.” She hugged the clothes and went to wash. When she finally came out, some color had returned to her face. She glanced around. Just like Finn Wembley had said, the whole place was stuffed with Doraemon—big ones, small ones, every kind imaginable. “You could open a whole exhibit here.”
  • “You didn’t come to admire my Doraemon collection, did you?” Kate hadn’t gone to sleep. She leaned against the bed, mulling things over, waiting for Madison. “You want the guest room or like before—crash with me?” Looking at Madison, she didn’t even give her a choice. “Stick with me. I’m guessing you won’t sleep alone anyway.”
