Chapter 1010 Someone Lurking in the Shadows (IV)
- Madison Sawyer’s attending physician, Dr. Zhao, hurried in, checked her over again, and studied the readouts for a long time. Finally, he glanced at them, a touch uncertain. “The patient’s EEG shows some abnormal fluctuations,” he said, “not very obvious, so I can’t confirm if it’s a sign she’s waking up.” He then asked for every detail of what happened and, after listening, spoke with firm confidence: “It’s possible the conversation stimulated her neural pathways and triggered a moderate response. We can’t be sure yet, but it’s worth trying—keep using similar topics, or whatever the patient would be interested in, and just keep talking to her. Ongoing, casual chat like that should help. You did well.”
- The doctor’s words were a huge boost. Madison’s mom changed her tune, choked up, and said to Chadwick Fullner, “Listen, Chadwick… I may have treated you badly. But for Madison—please, for her sake—keep chatting with her. Talk about what she loves. Help her wake up.”
- Chadwick was fired up too. Grinning, he said, “Don’t worry, Mrs. Wembley. I might be useless at a lot of things, but I can chat forever. Madison loves her freedom—she’s wild about getting out and having fun. I’ll talk to her about that.”
