Chapter 12 Part-Time Husband (2)

  • "Dad, you're so cool! If anyone bullies me in the future, I promise I'll fight back and beat them up."
  • "That's right! We have to act like a man. But you must remember, don't tell your Mommy. This is a little secret between us, do you hear me?" Chadwick suddenly thought of Samantha's ferocious appearance, and his whole body shuddered. Thus, he quickly reminded Finn.
  • "Okay! I won't tell Mommy. It's our secret."
  • "That's right. I'll teach you the right way to fight." With that, Chadwick began to teach a 5-year-old child his fighting experience in school from when he was still a child.
  • "What were you talking to him just now? I could see that he was thrilled." Then, when they walked out of the school, she asked him.
  • "Nah, I didn't say anything much. I just told him some jokes," Chadwick said. Sure enough, he would not say that he was teaching her son how to fight.
  • "Anyway, thank you very much. I haven't seen him smile so happily in a long time," Samantha suddenly said to him sincerely, and her words made him feel somewhat awkward.
  • "Don't thank me. You spent so much money to hire me here. So it's my job to make your son happy. I'm a person with great work ethics," Chadwick said solemnly.
  • Samantha said nothing after giving him a glance. After walking out of the school, she directly told him, "Okay, you are good to go this week. Take your clothes from the car and go back by yourself. I'll call you next Wednesday."
  • "You're leaving?"
  • "Yeah, I have to go to work."
  • "But you have to take me back outside your community. My private car is still parked there," he said anxiously.
  • "Private car? Do you mean to say your bicycle? Your bicycle doesn't cost as much as the fuel expenses that I would spend by sending you back home. Take a taxi and go back to ride your bicycle. Send your card number to my phone tomorrow. You have my phone number. I'll credit your monthly salary to your bank account on time at the end of each month," she said as she got into her car and drove away, completely ignoring his protests.
  • "F*CK! Must she turn her back on me like this?! She only cares to send me here but doesn't bother sending me back to where we came from," Chadwick grumbled. Then, he carried a few bags of valuable clothes and walked to the bus stop to wait for the bus. Regardless, I can't possibly abandon my vehicle. It's my only means of transportation. Even though its speed isn't fast, it's still faster than me walking.
  • Chadwick was bored while waiting for his stop on the bus. He felt a little flustered when he thought that he would have nothing to do in the next few days. Ever since he came to Millsborough, he had been busy every day. As busy as a bee, he was busy from morning till night every day. He never seemed to stop and take a rest. All of a sudden, there was nothing for him to do. Therefore, he was not used to it for a while. Moreover, he still needed to make money. I have to earn more money. No, I need to earn more income. This way, I can cross out all the unsettled debts as soon as possible. But how can I find a high-paying job? I have no idea. Although he had a Bachelor's degree, he had no work experience. His previous occupation only had him sitting behind the desk being completely idle daily. It's not hard to find a job in this city, but it's hard to find a job that pays well.
  • "I should go check out the personnel-recruiting market later!" Chadwick finally sighed and said as he felt the debts weighing down on him and gradually suffocating him with how heavy the burden was.
  • Chadwick slowly rode his bicycle. As he rode, a car suddenly drove past him. It just so happened that the road was uneven, and the potholes accumulated a pool of water on the roadside. When the car drove past, the stagnant water splashed up, landing all over him. He was fuming with anger when he saw the set of clothes he wore worth tens of thousands drenched with sewage water. So, he chased after the car on his bike. While he was chasing that driver down, he suddenly felt that the car looked so familiar, especially the license plate. It didn't take him long to realize just why this car looked so familiar. Isn't this our courier company's manager, Mr. Tamas' car?
  • "Damn it! It seems like this time; I have to settle both old and new scores altogether with you!" Chadwick sped up the movements of his feet and rode his bicycle to chase after a car. Fortunately, the car was not driving at a fast speed since there was traffic congestion in the city.
  • The car did not drive far before it stopped in a shopping mall. Then, Chadwick saw the so-called Mr. Tamas leave the vehicle with a perverted look on his face. A woman got off with him, and this woman was no stranger to Chadwick. She was the company's treasurer, Mia Rivera. Her looks are average at best, and she's actually not beautiful. However, she is very coquettish, and it's an open secret within the company. Usually, others will find her for a chat and tease her simply because she dares to say anything. With her, there are no jokes that cannot be said.
  • "How did these two get together?" Chadwick felt a little strange. After that, he saw James directly hugging Mia's waist, and the two walked slowly forward. At the sight of this, Chadwick widened his eyes. Next, he even saw James' hand rubbing her butt twice from time to time, regardless of whether they were in public or not.
  • When he saw this, he instantly understood what was going on.
  • "Godd*mn! Are they actually doing this? Haha… Mr. Tamas, it's time to meet your maker." Chadwick was overjoyed. Therefore, he took his phone and followed behind the two to take pictures. He took the photos from all angles, whether the front or side.
  • "The megapixel of an iPhone is high. So, there's no other phone more suitable for sneak shots than this," Chadwick said with a smile as he flipped through the photos he took.
  • He followed not far behind the two, only to see the so-called Mr. Tamas buying bags, clothes, and cosmetics for Mia. He had actually followed the two around the mall for more than an hour before reaching his breaking point. Perhaps the two of them were finally tired of all the shopping they were doing as they left the mall and found a place to eat nearby. Unfortunately for Chadwick, he could only stand outside the restaurant when others were eating there. I can't exactly go in there and eat too. If I do, won't my cover be blown and my pictures rendered utterly useless? However, he was determined to see this through as he bought two pieces of bread, squatted in front of the restaurant, and waited. Finally, after he had waited another hour or so, he saw the two of them exit the restaurant. Before he was ready to make his move, they had already gotten into the car and drove away.
  • It was too late for Chadwick to ride his own bicycle and follow them this time, so he stopped a taxi and instructed the driver to follow Mr. Tamas' car. James' car finally stopped in front of a hotel. Then, they checked into the hotel and got a room while showing public displays of affection.
  • Meanwhile, Chadwick followed them silently while taking pictures along the way. When he got on the elevator, he saw that the elevator for the two of them stopped on the seventeenth floor. He frowned when he saw that, so he turned to the front desk and asked the hotel's receptionist, "Hello, may I ask, what room are the gentleman and the lady who just checked in here in?"
  • "Why are you asking this?"
  • "Oh, I'm the driver of our manager, and he left his phone in the car. So, I have to send it to him. Please tell me the specific room number. Thank you!"
  • "Then, tell me what's the name of your manager."
  • "James Tamas."
  • "Are you really his driver? We have a policy that states our customer's information remains confidential during their stay." The receptionist at the front desk hesitated.
  • "Why would I ask otherwise? It's not easy for us to do our work. If I don't send it to him, he can't find anyone without his phone. When that happens, I'll certainly get fired. So, please, have mercy on me, from one employee to another."
  • After she gave him a good once over, she finally decided to check and told him, "Room 1702."
  • "Okay. Thanks, beautiful! You're so pretty. You're just like Wonder Woman." Chadwick complimented her and then immediately ran into the elevator.
