• Chadwick Fullner lifted the cup and carefully held it to Madison Sawyer’s lips. Madison didn’t see it coming. She’d thought he’d just pour the water and leave—he’d never been gentle or attentive to her. Instinct kicked in; she turned her face away, refusing that sudden warmth. “I can drink it myself.”
