Chapter 1233 Thanksgiving (21)

  • At noon, Keith Branwell and Chadwick Fullner took over the kitchen. Yasmin Langston and Chadwick Fullner’s Dad helped on the side. They whipped up a huge, lavish spread. Everyone gathered around—close enough to call it a reunion. But for Chad’s father, there was a clear pang of regret. He eyed the table and kept shaking his head. “Just the few of us? We’ll never finish this. Feels like a waste.”
  • “It’s fine, Dad. You don’t know how much these two bottomless pits can eat. This might not even be enough,” Chad said with a grin. Yasmin shot him a glare. “You dumb or what?” Then she turned, smiling at Chad’s father. “Don’t worry, Mr. Wembley. By New Year, for sure. And next Thanksgiving, Miss Sawyer’s gonna be here at this table. No doubt.”
  • That finally clicked for Chad—his father still wished Madison Sawyer would join them for the holiday. Partly for the noise and the warmth, but mostly for what it would mean underneath. He smiled and said openly, “I’ll give her a call and have her wish you a happy holiday.” He reached for his phone, realized he’d left it in the bedroom, so he took his father’s phone and dialed Madison.
