Chapter 1234 Thanksgiving (Part Twenty-Two)

  • Keith had learned the hard way. Lesson burned in. If he’d clocked all this earlier, their kid would probably be old enough to run errands by now.
  • Chadwick Fullner glanced at the two of them. They looked pretty relaxed—not like they were being ground down by that T-rex—so he knew they must’ve settled things with Mrs. Langston. “So, how’d you two win over your mother-in-law?”
  • “Didn’t really ‘win’ anything.” Yasmin Langston said it like it was no big deal. “I told my mom, congrats, she’s got herself a grandson on the way—still hitching a ride in her daughter’s belly. No need for her to come to Millsborough. I’ll take her grandson home myself, and we’ll still make it in time for Thanksgiving dinner. And I said that ‘director’ she mentioned didn’t sound half bad—at least richer than Keith, right? Only problem is, he’s forty. Odds are he can’t have kids anymore. Lucky me, I’ll bring one along. If his family’s got the cash to raise him, I’ll bring Keith too while I’m at it.”
