Chapter 1230 Thanksgiving (18)

  • Chadwick Fullner never liked standing in the spotlight. If he were in Millsborough, he’d do interviews for the wider reach. But in a small county like this, the TV channel barely got beyond the county line. It wouldn’t move the needle. Plus, there was a deeper reason: he didn’t know if Samantha Wembley’s parents might watch the show. He didn’t want them to know he’d been here. So he had the store manager and Emily do the interview and show up on camera instead. That way, the promo would still land okay.
  • After a busy morning, at noon Chadwick picked up the tab at the same hotel where he and Samantha had once planned their first wedding. That wasn’t him being sentimental. He didn’t want to reopen old wounds. It was just the best hotel in town. Luckily, with people coming and going, he barely had time to wallow.
  • Over drinks, Chadwick got in good with a director in charge of investment attraction, and got confirmation: the county would break ground on an industrial park no later than Christmas, and bringing in companies was top priority. Chadwick followed up with his plan to build a logistics hub and got strong support. Of course, letters of intent and the paperwork would take time. He wasn’t in a rush. A logistics base needed a mountain of seed money. He still had to figure that part out.
